The Mac Air's screen may go blank and remain so even after restarting. Check if the Mac is actually on, force-start the Mac, check the charger, cable, and power, reset system controllers, check the display specifically, and try a safe mode test. If the screen remains blank, likely causes include a display cable disconnected or damaged, backlight power failure, logic-board issue, firmware corruption, or hardware service. If under warranty or AppleCare, book a Genius Bar or Apple Authorized Service Provider appointment to diagnose the issue.
