Cache taking up 224GB- what can i delete?

My mac has always been struggling for room, and in my caches folder i have one folder which is 224gb (com.apple.e5rt.e5bundlecache). Why is this so large, and what can i do to reduce it?

Hi,

The user cache is where individual applications store temporary files. This is generally safe to clear, as apps will recreate the necessary cache files as needed (though they might load slightly slower the first time after the clean).

  1. Open Finder.
  2. In the top menu bar, click Go and select Go to Folder (or press Shift + Command + G).
  3. Type ~/Library/Caches and press Return.
  4. You will see folders for different applications. You can sort them by size to identify which ones are taking up the most space.
  5. Inside these folders, select the files you want to delete and move them to the Trash (press Command + Delete).
    • Important: Do not delete the cache folders themselves, only their contents.
  1. Right-click the Trash icon in your Dock and select Empty Trash.
  2. Restart your Mac to force the applications to rebuild their caches properly.
