Problematic heart rate monitor results on Ultra 3

When will Apple admit their HR monitor function on Ultra is messed up, especially when exercising? I've tried everything suggested and still get the 160-175 bpm readings in the first 5-8 minutes of an elliptical workout. Do we loyal Apple users need to purchase a bluetooth HR chest band or arm band to get accurate readings during a workout after already spending hundreds on a smart watch?

Since the Apple Watch Ultra just came out, this might indeed be software related. The heart rate is recorded correctly on my Ultra 2 in watchOS 26.0.2

You should let Apple know directly about this issue by using the Feedback link, as this is the only way to reach them.

I found, that wearing the watch 1-2cm further away from the wrist than usual during a workout does help to get a correct reading right away. The weight of the watch pushes it towards the wrist and the sensor loses contact.

I'm also wearing the Ocean band instead of my Alpine Loop during my workouts, which also helps to keep the watch in place.
