Purchased MacBook Air M4 with discrepancy in Apple coverage date

On 17th October, 2025, I have bought a "MacBook Air M4"(13 inch, 24/512GB) from a reseller shop of Bangladesh. They took the price as real one's price and said that as brand new. But in apple coverage, it shows that it’s purchased on 17th June which was almost five months before the date I have purchased. So tell me, are they saying lie on me? And is that MacBook used before? Are they cheating on me? @AppleAuthority please help

No I just want to give apple the serial number. I just want that if apple will check and say that it’s used before or activate before. I just need to show it. Because the sellers said they had mailed to apple. So I just want a confirmation from apple that my mac is activate 4.5 months before I purchase it. That's all

That will do you absolutely no good.

You don't seem to be comprehending what we're telling you. You are NOT the original purchaser of that device. It was originally sold by Apple or an authorized retailer in June. Eventually, it made its way to the unauthorized shop where you purchased it.

The warranty clock started running in June. Apple won't change that. If you don't like it, return it and get your money back. If you can't do that, hire a lawyer and sue the store where you bought it for fraud.

Thank you so much. I was so worried that what if they update the purchase date as they were confident so much! Cause it doesn’t matter about the date, it matters that the product was absolutely used or opened. Overall, I should just wait for 10 days right? And I shouldn’t take a step before these 10 working days right?

According to Apple, you are not the original owner because you did not purchase the device from them. The warranty starts when the original owner purchases the device from Apple. There is nothing you can provide to change that fact, whether you wait 10 days or not.

As for if the device is actually unused, that depends on how much you trust the business you purchased it from. The box can be easily shrink wrapped to appear new. It may certainly be the case that the device was not used and Apple Gadgets is just selling you the device exactly as they had purchased it from Apple 5 months ago. It really is no different than if I bought a Mac from Apple and sold it to you. The warranty would start when I purchased it, not when you purchased it from me.

In any case, you have a device with a warranty that started in June. It is up to you want you want to do about it. Your purchase did not involve Apple at all, so anything you want to do will have to come from the retailer where you purchased it.

I need a proof. They just refused a thousands time.

You did not purchase from an Authorized Apple Seller, so there is nothing that Apple can provide to you. Apple is not involved in your purchase at all, so you will have to resolve any problem with the retailer by using any government resources available that offer consumer protections. Otherwise the retailer is free to do whatever they want and there are no consequences.

There are Authorized Apple Sellers in Bangladesh, you just chose not to use one. Apple does provide a method to Find Locations in your area that are authorized Apple Sellers. Of course it is too late for that now.

So that's absolutely sure that apple will not change the purchase date from my macbook coverage even if the dealer will talk to apple, right?

That is correct, because the "dealer" is NOT an authorized Apple reseller.

If that so, then it’s a good news cause the shop said and written copy that if they won't be able to change the purchase date within 10 working days, then they will absolutely replace or refund my money.

Then take them up on their offer and get your money back and go buy a Mac from an authorized retailer instead.
