iPhone forgets where I left off listening in playlist. Even after short periods of time.

I will be on song 600 of a 2000 song playlist. Listening on my car stereo. Disconnect the phone to run a grocery errand (5-10 minutes).

Come back to the car and plug it in, only to find it start with the first song on my phone instead of on song 600 in the playlist.

Shouldn’t it continue from where I left off? If it helps: car is 2016 Hyundai Sonata and phone is iOS 26.0.1 on iPhone 16 Pro Max.

i have restarted the phone several times and do not have a computer to connect the phone with.
