When trying to update iPadOS via iTunes, it requires the latest version of iTunes, while it is already the latest version

iPad Pro 12.9 2nd gen. Current iPadOS version 11.4 (cannot be updated wirelessly).

Trying to update iPadOS with iTunes on Windows 7. Installed latest version of iTunes 12.10.11.2 compatible with Win 7. Works seamlessly except for iPadOS update.

When trying to update, iTunes says "In order to update to iPadOS to 17.7.10 you need the latest version of iTunes".

When checking for updates of iTunes, it says "This version of iTunes (12.10.11) is the current version.

You need Windows 10 or newer to get a newer version of iTunes (though now there is the Apple Devices app for Windows).

Per Apple's documentation:

Syncing to a Mac or PC requires:

macOS Catalina 10.15 or later using the Finder
macOS High Sierra 10.13 through macOS Mojave 10.14.6 using iTunes 12.8 or later
Windows 10 or later using iTunes 12.12.10 or later (free download from apple.com/itunes/download)

So, it's just impossible with Windows 7. OK, many thanks.

(Apple Device for Windows is also incompatible with Win 7.)
