Recovering years of missing Gmail emails

Hi All,

My gmail emails (older than February 2025) have completely disappeared.

I have no filters active, no storage limitations (I have plenty of space both in iCloud and in Google), they are not in the spam, not in the bin, I have no rules active. I have tried the recovery option via Gmail but it was unsuccessful. My account was not compromised.

How can I recover these years of emails?

Please note that I believe that the issue is with apple because I also have a second gmail account which is NOT in use on my iPhone, and on that one all is fine - all emails are there.

Any hints would be greatly appreciated

Use your browser to log into your gmail account and check if the emails are still in your account. If they are, you can access them with your browser until you get the email client access issue resolved.

Try this

Remove and Re-add the Account

Go to Mail >Settings (or Preferences).
Select the Accounts tab and choose the problematic account.
Click the minus sign (—) at the bottom to remove the account.
Restart your Device
Go back to Mail >Settings and click the plus sign (+) to add the account back.
