Burning DVDs w/ Apple external DVD drive (USB-A) on current USB-C Macs.

I'm looking at the current Mac mini to replace my 2017-era 27" iMac. I still have a use for burning DVDs, either as data disks to backup project files or to burn DVDs for family who aren't cloud storage capable for various reasons.

My Apple external DVD drive has a USB-A connector, while current Mac models have moved to USB-C. Has anyone been able to successfully use on of these old external DVD drives to burn a disc using a USB-A to USB-C adapter cable to reach plug compatibility?

There isn't a USB-C native external DVD burner from Apple, but it looks like there are some from 3rd parties. Want to know if I need to add another accessory to the list of things I need to buy to replace my aging Mac.

You should be able to use a good quality USB-A to USB-C adapter for this or an externally powered hub.

I use a Ugreen dock and it works fine with my 3rd party DVD drive.
