Problem after upgrading
I can no longer open the folders on my desktop by just clicking.. it’s driving me crazy . I have to access them through Preview

Upgrading to what? What macOS is your iMac running?

Old Toad, I was impressed that Apple Support talked me through the process that corrected my problem. I honestly can’t remember what we did as I am a long way past a certain age & did as they suggested. I am not avoiding your question it’s just I was using their expertise which worked . Hopefully the next update will correct the problem but they did say I was not the only person experiencing the problem. Ring or email Apple Support

I upgraded the IOS to Tahoe 26.0.1
I have since resolved the problem by phoning Apple support. It appears that Apple are aware of the problem & mine is now fixed.
