Magsafe charger A2580 shows in Settings as A2140

I got a 2024 25W Magsafe charger recently from a decent local electronics store since we don't have authorized sellers in our country anyway. Packaging and a puck looked legit to me, but when I checked it in About section on iPhone 17 (iOS 26.0.1), the model number was showing A2140. Serial number appears 20 seconds after I connect it and is the same everywhere: packaging, puck, and About section (checks on Apple website as A2580). Charging speed is also questionable: from 29% to 76% in 1 hour with a 30W Apple adapter, sadly I don't have any other devices to test. Despite regular overnight charging, it never updated. Is it just a nice looking fake?

Bingo, that’s your problem right there. Take it back to that store and ask them to sort it out. When buying from a third party retailer that is not an authorized reseller you are asking for trouble. Unauthorized resellers cannot get their products directly from Apple. That charger could very well be counterfeit.
