Open New Message window. I have files attached that came from the Documents, Downloads or Applications folder. But trying to attach files from any other folders will not work or trying to create an email from QB or LR for example will not attach the files even though it will open a New Message window.

I can from the Documents, Downloads or Applications folder. But if I drag and drop from any other folder the attachment will just continue to say downloading. If I highlight it and hit the space bar this is the message I get.

"Mail was unable to save the attachment “07235715.zip” to disk. Verify that your downloads folder exists and is writable."

I don't have the Documents folder set as part of iCloud. I have a folder inside of Documents set for copying files I need to email as a work around.

The real problem and huge time waster is the applications that have the capacity to email files from. They will open a new email message but won't attach the files.

What is strange is that this started with an update to 15.7.1. With 15.7.1 I could just delete the "com.apple.mail.plist" file and that would fix it until it would start again.

I went to download 26.0.1 to start a clean install on a new partition (Volume) and it did not stop and ask and went ahead and up dated without my permission. That is BS.

So now I am on 26.0.1 and it worked fine for 10 days and then it screwed up again and now deleting the "com.apple.mail.plist" no longer fixes it.
