Skipping songs in Apple Music App?! (using as itunes, not the streaming subscription.)

I just went from Ventura to Tahoe.

Besides other changes in Music, what have they done to the skipping function!?! 2 problems.

Pressing the skip button (keyboard, in menu bar and in app - now at the bottom, not the top) is meant to go from one track to the next in the list. It’s jumping all over the place (in my 20K songs!) The obvious answer would be “shuffle.” That’s off.

I do use the ‘play next’ feature, but that’s not the reason here. 

I would expect it to skip the unticked / unchecked tracks, of course.

Within a specific search/artist, e.g. for Oasis and play a song (highlighted.) Using the skip forward button, it should go in the order they’re sorted, but it skips in the order numbered in the screenshot!  Then goes further up. Then it does skips several in the correct order, before jumping around inexplicably.

Same thing happens playing my own playlists (which are sorted in their own different orders)

I’m baffled! Help!? Please 🙏🥺

Also, on the subject of the skip button, somehow with Tahoe the skip button (again, keyboard ,or at the bottom of the Music window) “skip” changes from ‘move to the next song’, to ‘skip forward 30 seconds.’ I guess this is a feature, but I cannot fathom how I’ve changed it! All I can do is quit the Application and then when reopened “skip” goes back to being ‘move to the next song’ (which may or may not be on order, back to my first point 🥺☹️
