Is there a secret to finding a title WITHOUT auto fade in and out?

When did Basic Title get parameters???

AFAIK (and that's only until FCP 10.4.10), Basic Title has *never* had any parameters, and never been anything but "straight text" — On then Off — as it's played. It's not even possible to keyframe the text parameters for Position, Scale, Rotation, etc...

There are tons of titles with part of their names containing "Basic" — is the OP referring to one of these others?

It is possible to have more than one Title named explicitly "Basic Title" (they would exist in separate categories).

When right-clicked on, ALL* "built in" Titles (Effects, Generators, and Transitions) will display an option to Open **a copy** in Motion.

Titles (and the others) altered in Motion will only display Open in Motion.

*There are a few effects that are not editable in Motion and will only display Make Default (whatever, if additional info provided).

No, it does not have any published parameters in 11.2.

"Basic Title" is still there and what you're looking for.

Look in it's published properties, you can turn the fade off.

Some have it by default, some don't. And it's always in the Inspector pane, in the published properties tab. Pretty simple, not hidden.
