Ipod touch will not connect to Itunes

I cannot add any music to my Ipod as it states cannot connect to the Itunes Store.

Can anyone help?

Is my Ipod touch now obsolete I wonder.

Grateful for any help

Thanks

Some older iPod Touch models can no longer connect to the iTunes Store, but you can still add music to it by using iTunes on a Windows PC or a Mac using OS Mojave (10:14) or earlier. If you use a Mac running OS Catalina (10:15) or later, use the built-in Finder app.

If you use iTunes, make sure that you do not install the Apple Devices, Apple TV and Apple Music apps as this will prevent you from managing your purchased music with your iPod. (Note that Apple Music (the app) is not the same as the Apple Music subscription service, although you probably don't want the subscription service either if you have purchased music.)

Which iPod are you using? If it's an iPod Touch, which version of iOS is it using (see Settings/General/About/Software Version)?

Obsolete, no. Obsolescent, yes.

I'm not being old-fashioned, but the word obsolescent seems to have fallen out of favour, which is a shame since it defines the status of your iPod now.

    • Obsolete - no longer in use, no longer useful or not in use anymore
    • Obsolescent - becoming obsolete. In other words, still useful and in use, but gradually being replaced by something else

Your iPod is obsolescent.
