Without more information, we have no way of telling the latest version of macOS that your MacBook Air can run.
We do know from what you have told us that it cannot run Tahoe. (That's not surprising – since no Intel-based MacBook Air can.).
If it can upgrade to Sonoma (hardware model year of 2018 or newer) or Sequoia (hardware model year of 2020), that would be good enough for most commercial software for now. (Keeping in mind that as Apple releases new versions of macOS, those will also fall out of the "most recent three".)

If it has a hardware model year earlier than 2018, it may be time to replace it.
