Errors upgrading to Tahoe on 2019 MacBook Pro 16"

I've tried several times to upgrade my 2019 16" MacBook Pro and get a variety of error responses. The first was that the download could not be verified and to check my internet connection. The second will be a failure and then a change in the size of the dl from 8GB to 17GB. Finally when it does proceed after downloading I get the following error which I have attached a screenshot. I also tried to restart and held the option button on start up and shift while selecting start disk. To see if safe mode helped, but it did not make a difference.

Update: I was able to select a second root /code on the same disk and install it there. But this means that I had to go though a new setup and my files were not transferred. This is due to the fact that they are using the same disk space, but also because the according to the error when I attempted to transfer from the Macintosh disk at setup "the old filesystem does not use capitalisation". I am still trying to update on Machintosh to no avail.
