Playing songs from Apple Music in another, non-Apple application

I'm an internet DJ, I WAS using Apple Music with an encoder to broadcast my show (yes, we pay royalties).

Made the mistake of upgrading my computer to Tahoe, which completely hosed the Music app for that purpose, worst of it being the setting to even out song volumes (some really faint to some really loud) isn't working. Other issues as well that have been reported in feedback - I'm advising the other DJs who have the same set up NOT to upgrade to Tahoe until Music's been fixed.

So now I have to use Mixxx, it accesses my iTunes/Music library and lets me set up playlists there and has its own encoder. It mostly works, except most of my music - most likely what I got from my Music subscription doesn't show up. Anything that was in the cloud I'd download it then rescan the library and it still doesn't show up. I look at the properties of the file using show info on the file and they don't say that they're protected files. SOME of them do, but most don't.

Yes I plan on getting help from the Mixxx community on this, but is there anything on the Apple side that would prevent a downloaded song from showing up in another application? Thanks much in advance.

Trish,

You may have purchased the track, but the copy in your library may be a downloaded subscription track. This can happen, for example, if you request a lossless version, in which case the lossless subscription track will replace the AAC/256 that you purchased.

If that happened, delete the subscription track and re-download the purchased version: Redownload music from the iTunes Store on your Mac - Apple Support
