Your obsolete first generation iPad has a 30-pin dock connector. Charging cables for the iPad1 are no longer available from Apple. You may be able to find third-party alternatives.

The iPad1 uses a standard 5V USB power source to charge. This model iPad was supplied with a USB Type-A Power Adapter rated a 5W, but will benefit from a 10W Power Adapter. While you can use a Power Adapter with a higher power output, the iPad will not charge any faster.
