Volume Issue w/ AirPods 4 and Apple TV 4K

Hello all! I just got a pair of AirPods 4 (ANC) that I have paired to my Apple TV 4K - all works fine until I use the Apple TV remote to change to volume… the slider on the screen moves but volume stays the same in my AirPods.

I have done pretty much everything under the sun in attempt to remedy this including; reconnecting my AirPods to my ATV, hard resetting my ATV, resetting the remote, changed volume and remote setting on my ATV…. worked just fine with the previous AirPods.

So, any ideas? Thank you!
