Cell formats change at random

Cells will not stay in the format set for a column. Date or Currency. The same happens for Excel and Google spreadsheets!

If it is happening in all three app, it is probably something you are doing. If you format a cell a certain way but type something totally different into it, it will ignore the format. For example, if you format a cell as Date&Time then type $1.50 into the cell, it will ignore the Date&Time format because it cannot format $1.50 into a date and time. Same thing if a formula in the cell results in something incompatible with the specified format.

Try selecting all the cells in the column (you can double-tap the column letter at the top to do that) and tapping the format "paintbrush". Under the Format tab tap the circled i to the right of Date & Time, then select the date format you want and scroll down to the time section and tap select 'None.'

That should apply a uniform format to your dates and not show the time. (Keep in mind that there is still a time there even if you don't display it).

If A50 still has an odd format then try double-tapping it, clearing out its contents, and reentering the date.
