AirPod Pro 3 Hearing Aid feature in the Province of BC Canada

I specifically purchased the AirPod Pro 3 for the hearing aid feature.

I have come to learn that due to federal and provincial regulatory rules in Canada. The feature is locked and not available in Canada.

Where can I find further information about regulatory approval for AirPod Pro 3 to use the hearing aid feature in the province of BC in Canada?

Is there a specific Apple contact/email?

Is there a third-party contact/email regulatory body that can be contacted

Is Apple still pursuing the hearing aid feature in the province of British Columbia in Canada?

From everything I’ve read, the problem lies with the provinces and (likely) the hearing aid / audiology lobbies that don’t want to lose their monopoly. Imagine the uproar if the optometry community got the government to legislate that the selling of over-the-counter glasses was illegal, so that every pair, prescription or reading, had to be sold by an optometrist after a professional eye exam. That’s essentially how I see the current situation with hearing aids.

If there’s any progress being made on this, I’ve found no evidence of it. I’ve looked for any advocate organization (health, senior, hearing) that’s taken a stand on this, and found nothing. None of this is Apple’s fault; they simply can’t sell technology in a market where it’s illegal.

The last few replies have some interesting ideas, especially if you’re near the coast. I’ve come very close buying the airpods pro 3 and taking a ferry ride, but haven’t yet.
