IOS26 Screen time not working

In iOS 26 it seems like screen time doesn’t work. I tried to use it to block my kids devices - I used the “Turn on Downtime until tomorrow” function from my iPhone and the devices kept on working. They were all on WiFi etc. no reason it shouldn’t have taken effect within a few mins. Any ideas? Or does screen time continue to be awful
