How to remove Activation Lock with proof of ownership?

I had a very bad experience with my activation lock as I completely forgot about my id and password. However I made a request to Apple support to remove my activation lock and provide all the proof of ownership and it took 72hours for Apple to approve my request. So I can say it actually works faster than what I thought.
