Unable to share folder - Family Sharing

I have a MacBook Air (2025, Sequoia 15.3) with Advanced Data Protection enabled on my iCloud account. I am the primary holder of a shared iCloud account with a family member, who uses a MacBook Air (Monterey 12.7.6) and iPhone 17, but does not have Advanced Data Protection turned on. When I try to share an iCloud Drive folder with them (using their registered email and phone, via email, iMessage, or AirDrop), the sharing options do not work. Error Message: iMessage - "An Error occurred. Unable to start collaboration" Email - "Unable to share iCloud document. Mail is unable to share the iCloud document with these participants"

Has anyone experienced this issue with folder sharing between accounts or devices when only one participant has Advanced Data Protection enabled? Is there a way to resolve this, or a compatibility limitation I should be aware of? Any guidance would be appreciated
