ipados26 Mail hide list of emails - not possible

Mail app on portrait always show list of emails. want to hide, not posiible, use stage. I really dont like windows options for apps. How ti hide list, maybe from left side of screen to open but not, crazy not working “previous” as it was in better ipados17
