Re: AirPod pro won’t connect after Tahoe upgrade
MacOS Tahoe was a major upgrade. There may be re-indexing and more going on in the background as the update process may continue completing after you have access to you Mac.
Wondering if the AirPods firmware is up to date:
See: About firmware updates for AirPods - Apple Support
(AirPods generally update automatically if Mac OS (or iOS) is up-to-date.)

Re: Gen 2 pair, the amber light on the case blinks
You may want to check: How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support
Eg: says:
"If the status light doesn't flash white when you reset your AirPods"
- Put your AirPods in the charging case and close the lid for 20 seconds.
- Open the lid of your charging case.
- Depending on your model of AirPods:
- For AirPods 1, AirPods 2, AirPods 3, AirPods Pro 1, or AirPods Pro 2,
press and hold the setup button on the case again for about 15 seconds, until the status light on the front of the case flashes amber, then flashes white.
- For AirPods 4 models and AirPods Pro 3, double-tap the front of the case while the status light is on, double-tap again when the status light flashes white. When the status light flashes faster, double-tap a third time, until the status light flashes amber, then flashes white.
To reconnect your AirPods: With your AirPods in their charging case and the lid open, place your AirPods close to your device, then follow the steps on your device's screen.

Re: My Gen 1 pair gives me an error
Wondering if you checked the serial numbers. It's not hard to accidentally swap an AirPod with someone else. See what to do: If you get an alert that says 'Mismatched AirPods' or 'AirPods Mismatch' - Apple Support

We are all Apple users, like yourself, in the community. Unless others reply to your post, we have no way of knowing for sure ... eg: we don't get to see the feedback sent to Apple, or support cases.
