With Compressor 4.11 on MBP M1 Max, and a Motion 5.11 .motn file, I get the same failure...
Very embarrassing while trying to get a project completed 😱
MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.7
In Compressor, go to the application menu, to Settings, to Advance, to Reset Queue.
You'll run this twice. The first time to "Cancel Jobs". The second time to "Repair Compressor".
Then reboot your computer, see if that helps.
You can also create a custom preset in Compressor, and in FCP make it a custom export preset, save some time in the future.

Some sort of turnaround (in order to get this one project done): I used the "Share" method 🙄
Yet, I still hope to get Compressor doing the job for the next serious works... 🫠
