Tahoe update causing a lot of glitches!

Subject: Multiple Display, Input, and Audio Issues After Updating to macOS Tahoe (2019 MacBook Pro)

After updating to macOS Tahoe (version 15.0) on my 2019 MacBook Pro (16-inch, Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM) about three weeks ago, I’ve been experiencing persistent glitches affecting the display, input, and audio.

Display Issues

  • I can no longer maximize application windows (e.g., Firefox, Pages).
  • The right third of the display is unresponsive to the cursor — I can’t scroll, click, or select anything in that area.
  • When I attempt to interact with the right side, other applications open automatically or the display dims unexpectedly.
  • I’ve had to resize all windows to fit on the left two-thirds of the screen as a workaround.
  • Restarting and resetting the NVRAM/PRAM and SMC did not resolve the issue.

Input and Accessibility Issues

  • I use the Accessibility Keyboard as my primary input method.
  • Frequently, when I try to type in the Messages app, the keyboard becomes unresponsive, and documents from my desktop open automatically.

  • To temporarily fix it, I must:

  1. Hide the Accessibility Keyboard.
  2. Close all open applications.
  3. Click on the desktop.
  4. Reopen the Accessibility Keyboard.

  • This issue has been occurring consistently for approximately two weeks.

Audio Issue

  • As of today, I’ve noticed repeating or echoing system sounds when sending messages, adding reactions, or playing videos in the LINE app.

Troubleshooting Steps Tried

  • Restarted the laptop multiple times.
  • Reset NVRAM/PRAM and SMC.
  • Verified that macOS is updated to the latest version of Tahoe.
  • Checked for any third-party extensions or login items — none active.

Question

Could these issues be related to the Accessibility Keyboard or display input management under macOS Tahoe? Has anyone else experienced similar behavior after upgrading?

There have been a few reports of bad behavior using Accessibility Keyboard. Leaving a blank unresponsive window on the screen, covering areas below, has been reported here.

if you want to give Apple a heads-up alert, the feedback pages are great for that.

For a formal, tracked Bug Report, you would need to supply enough information so that Engineers could replicate your problem in their labs with their equipment. This is typically done through telephone support, or if you have special needs, accessibility support. If first responders can not solve the problems, they will likely have a Specialist contact you to continue debugging.

Report this to Apple:

Do your Part: Inform Apple of your feedback of this issue. Include how you’ve troubleshot this, and your results. Apple wont get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive from its users, the more likely they will know what needs to be fixed, and what their customers prefer in updates, and future macOS versions to come. Apple with know nothing of this occurrence, if you don't report it to them.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - macOS - Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Select: "Software/Firmware Update" for the "Feedback Area"
  4. Comment: that this all began after the installation of an update. Include the URL of this thread.
  5. Proceed from there as necessary

Accessibility Issues with macOS Tahoe on 2019 MBP:

Not that I’ve come across with Tahoe. So, you might want to try connecting an external monitor, and reinstall the macOS.

Where to go from here...

Create New User:

For temporary use, create a new Administrator. See what happens when you log in to it. Do you still get this issue? If not, then is it a misconfiguration in the current user. If so, then you'd likely have to resinstall the macOS.

How to Reinstall the macOS:

Nothing would be lost. It's just that misplaced items would be placed back to where they should be and corrupt system files would be replaced by clean files. Go Here: Reinstall macOS - Apple Support.  Important: Prior to installing an update or performing a reinstallation, to prevent data loss, be sure to Back up your Mac with Time Machine.
