I received a spam calendar invitation that refused to be declined and appeared in my calendar anyway. When I long press on the invitation I tried cutting it. It disappears and reappears again. Please advise. Thank you.

Try to permanently delete the email the invitation came from. Then you should be able to delete permanently the invitation from Calendar.
My spam calendar events are coming from my Outlook account junk mail. The spam has been deleted. The calendar event removed from the Outlook calendar. It is now only appearing on my laptop, not iPhone or iPad. It won't delete. I've restarted the laptop. The spam calendar events are still there. So deleted from all other devices and from the Outlook account, but won't delete from my Mac laptop.
