Apple TV is unreliable. When is it being fixed?

I've attempted to watch Apple TV on multiple browsers, platforms and in different locations with different ISP's. Time and time again I'm presented with 'An error occurred please try again'.


The instances I'm trying to watch Apple TV are default and vanilla. ie Out the box Apple TV, or Chrome/Firefox or a Smart TV, and again in different locations with different connections.


I've now unsubscribed and I'm curious as to when Apple will fix this issue?


Netflix, Amazon and Disney never cause me the same grief.

What did they say when you contacted them? Apple can't resolve an issue they don't know about. If this were a common problem, the forums would be awash with complaints. They are not.


Do you have a VPN installed? If so, remove that and try again. Just turning it off isn't good enough.

Nothing about this sounds like an issue with the service. If the service it self was actually having outages or issues the forum would be none stop posts of people screaming about it. Also actual error messages from Apple tend to have more detail than "there was an error". This sounds like the client app(s) are having a problem of some kind. Also using a web browser for any of these services is always error prone.


The handful of posts complaining about this kind of thing pretty much always boil down to issues with Wifi connection quality, HDMI cable, or using a poorly written unauthorized apps on a low end devices.


The different services all use wildly different connection/steaming protocols, encoders, video outputs, etc. So it working for one service and not another is not indicative of anything.
