Arrangement won't persist when connecting a keyboard-linked iPad from a Mac in certain cases

When I place my iPad Pro on the right of my Mac that is also connected to an external display, arranged on top of the Mac built-in display which I also use, and extend the display to the iPad, it correctly maps the iPad's real location to the available screen real estate so that I can seamlessly move the mouse between the screens. It's arranged below the external display and to the right of the Mac's display.

However, if I then switch to the "Linked keyboard and mouse" and enable the "Push through the edge..." option, then disconnect the iPad by clicking it in the menu that is available from the Menu bar "linked cursor" icon, the arrangement is reset and to connect to the iPad again, I will need to push the right edge of the *external* display now, even though the iPad is below the external display! If there's no external display, the detection is correct and I need to push the right edge of the built-in Retina display.

I think this is a bug and the location should be remembered. To work around the issue when you work with multi-display setup but only want to use your iPad in a linked state occasionally, you can lock the iPad by pressing the power button or ⌘+Control+Q, which will lock the screen. Then to use it again, you will only need to wake the iPad by tapping the screen, it will reconnect automatically without the need to push the edge of the screen, and the arrangement will be correct, with the iPad still on the right of the Mac's built-in display and below the external display. Hope that helps someone to save on battery or their screen resource, or maybe Apple will see this and fix (or should I use the feedback form instead)?
