Apple TV LG app not working

The Apple TV app says " couldn't connect to Apple TV, check Internet connection and try again" every other app works fine, Internet connection is stable and working . After several attempts and restarts I got the app to load after a long time and a video to play after a long loading period, but playback stopped and paused after several minutes. My web is is the latest version as well as the Apple TV app.
