When I backup my iPhone to ITunes on the PC, are iMessages and Messages included?

I am trying to find out if iTunes on the PC backs up my iMessages and Messages. I have chosen not to use iCloud to back these up due to the file size.

However, I will use my PC to backup my iPhone. I was wondering if the iTunes on PC backup will include my messages?
