Mac mail screen flashing on and off

I updated to Tahoe 26.0.1 and now my Mac mail sometimes starts to flash on and off. it appears to pull up an old email and just sits there flashing on and off until I force quit the mail app. sometimes when I restart the mail app it continues to flash and sometimes it doesn't flash.

im running a MAC studio M2 Ultra machine
