How to get rid of MT65xx preloader from Network settings menu - SOLVED

If you have no need for it and are bugged to see the MT65xx preloader constantly reappear in your Network settings despite attempts to remove it, try these steps, which worked for me:

1) unlock your Network settings and select MT65xx preloader.

2) click the tiny DOWN ARROW just above the open padlock and choose "MAKE SERVICE INACTIVE"

3) click the "-" minus sign above the open padlock. MT65xx preloader should disappear but you must complete the next step to banish it for good.

4) click the APPLY button at the LOWER RIGHT HAND CORNER below the advanced button. THIS IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS. IF YOU SKIP THIS STEP AND ONLY CLICK THE APPLY OPTION THAT COMES UP WHEN CLOSING THE SETTINGS, THE MT65xx preloader will reappear.

5) Lock your settings. Done.

This worked for me after I tried various other methods that failed. Hopefully it will work for you.
