Macbook pro sleeping early than its setting

My 2019 macbook pro is sleeping after just 1 minute when set to 20. It had been working as expected (20 min) until I temporarily set it to just 1 minute as I tried to trouble shoot a different problem. I set it back to 20 but now it won't stay awake for more than a minute. I have tried changing both the on-battery and the plugged-in setting to various different times, restarted the computer, tried being both on battery and plugged in, but no matter what it always goes to sleep after just 1 minute.

What could be causing it to sleep earlier than the setting? Are there other settings that influence sleep?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 26.0

Reset the SMC and your NVRAM:

(Applies to Intel-Based Macs Only): Sometimes when changes are made to the system(i.e. Ports), system configurations (i.e. for Power) become manipulated, technically. So, reset the SMC and NVRAM. Try performing each thrice. It may take sometime, being certain you have the time to perform these resets.
