Type Positiong Issue in Numbers

Up until a few days ago the input in the column with the red arrow (Type Position #1) always lined itself up the the top line of the text in the next column.

Now as you can see in the second photo (type Position #2) the type is now being positioned lower. Scroll down to the red arrow in the 2nd image.

I am running Tahoe 26.0.1 and Numbers 14.4

Type Position #1

If it's not vertical alignment (my first thought) and it's not baseline shift (SGIII's thought), the next most-likely candidate is a blank space/line in front the word. This could especially be the case if you're copying the data from somewhere else and are picking up a carriage return character in front of the word(s) you intend to copy.

Try positioning the cursor in front of the D of 'Dollar Tree' and press backspace.

You can try using Copy Style and Paste Style to fix it. Select a cell that is correct, Copy Style, select a messed up one, Paste Style.

In the future you can use Paste and Match Style when pasting in the data. That should keep it from changing the style. I changed the shortcut on mine to Command Shift V because it is easier to type. System Settings->Keyboard->Keyboard Shortcuts->App Shortcuts and create the shortcut for either Numbers or all apps. I did all apps.

Thanks for all of the replies.

I tried the original from Camelot with no positive results. Before seeing the thoughts of SGIII or Badunit I I elected to delete the offend rows and re enter them. The issue had to have been created from my copy and paste from an Amazon order. All is well now. I for sure will keep all of the responses for reference in the event it should re-occur.

That is how I have and had it set in the sidebar. However on 10/15 I made an entry where I copied the text from an ordered invoice on amazon and pasted it in. From that point on the side bar settings appear to be the same but the type in the 2nd column have not been following the side bar settings. The type position error only pertains to the second column. The table has nine columns and all but one are following the side bar settings
