iPadOS 26 Pages: document has been deleted in another location

My girlfriend has been having this issue where once she renames a pages file, after few seconds of typing the document closes and then she get the error message "document has been deleted in another location" and she can no longer open the file.

To reproduce the issue 100%. Open a document, type some stuff, then touch the document name in the toolbar and rename the document. Then type more stuff and close the document (or maybe it’ll close itself). It will throw the error and everything you typed after renaming will be lost.

I came across this topic from 2020 which is the exact same problem. We already tried rebooting pages then rebooting the iPad.

It's quite an infuriating bug that seems to have been fixed according to the above discussion but has come back now.

No Apple employees participate in these fellow user-supported, public communities. The only means by alerting the Pages product team that there is an issue that may require change is to send a direct feedback to that product team.

In Pages for i/Pad/OS, there is a send feedback link on the last entry of application's Help menu. ⋯⃝ > Help > Send Feedback. That goes directly to the Pages product team.

No one participating in these discussions can fix the Pages application and "me too" responses won't get urgent, or ASAP attention.
