Mail app not working (M1, macOS 26, but issue happened earlier)

So, I’m not sure when this started, but my mail app isn’t working on my Mac. Whenever I try to open it, it usually crashes immediately. If it doesn’t crash, it asks me if it should reopen the last window. No matter what I press, it crashes again, and the cycle repeats itself.


This issue began with the previous operating system. I waited for the update (which I received today) and everything, but it still doesn’t work. Is there anything I can do to fix this, or do I have to keep using the online iCloud service?

Try a SafeBoot Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.
