Unable to redeem Apple Gift Card on non-Apple Account

An Apple Gift Card can only be used for Apple goods and services.

What you can buy with your Apple Gift Card or Apple Account balance - Apple Support

It’s not “cash.” (For that there IS AppleCash)

The actual funds from the sale of the Gift Card have already gone into Apple’s bank account. (And those funds are generally non-refundable btw)

You wouldn’t buy a Starbucks gift card and expect Best Buy to accept it as payment.

The Apple Support article: Check your Apple ID balance - Check your Apple Account balance - Apple Support says:

"About unused Apple ID balance

You can't redeem or return Apple Gift Cards, App Store & iTunes Gift Cards, or unused Apple ID balance for cash, except as required by law. If your jurisdiction allows for refund of redeemed gift balances, you can contact Apple Support [ Contact - Official Apple Support ] to request a refund."
