Spam iphone calendar invites that I cannot unsubscribe or delete

I am getting multiple spam iphone calendar invites with alarms for multiple days and have done everything apple states to do.

  1. There is no “unsubscribe” option on the spam calendar event.
  2. There is no unwanted calendar on my iPhone or MacBook, just mine.
  3. I cannot block the email address (there is one, but I can't block or report it).
  4. I can decline the event, but everything online says not to interact with the event, including not declining it.

I followed similar problems from users as recent as January 2024 and IOS 17 supposedly solved the issues then...I have IOS 18 now and I'm having these problems.

Apple instructional videos are outdated and don't address the problem, at least not those I've found.

Go to your list of calendars, and at the very bottom, there is an option to add a new calendar. Create a new calendar. Then go back to your events, and open the spam invite. Change the calendar for the invite to the one you just created. Now go back to the list of calendars and delete the calendar you created by going to the "i" symbol, and then "Delete Calendar."

Unfortunately, this didn’t work. I was only able to add a subscription, family or holiday calendar. I added a holiday calendar. Then I went to the spam event, which was sent to my calendar. I tried to change the calendar by tapping on it, and it would not allow me to change the calendar. So, I went back and clicked on the “i” on the new calendar created and removed it. Next idea?
