two monitors display content differently

Hi

Sonoma 14.7.6, two monitors (exactly same make and model). Previously, files and folders lined up perfectly when displayed in both monitors. Now, it looks as in photo. Have tried every (so I think) solution to no avail.

Also normally using BetterDisplay.app. But have tried everything with that turned off too.

Had this issue a while ago, posted here and got the solution. But there's no way I can find my own old posts... :-(

Anyone?

Go to System Settings->Displays, and click on Arrange..

Drag the representations of the screens so that they are perfectly aligned.

Show a screenshot of your System Settings -> Displays -> Arrange

Command-Shift-5 to take a screenshot.

For each monitor, show a screenshot of the System Settings -> Displays (in the Displays panel, you click on the icon representing each monitor to get the resolution for that monitor).

And each monitor has their own physical buttons, generally along the bottom right edge, that allow making adjustments to the monitor. Are all the physical settings the same for both monitors?
