Factory reset locked iPad without passcode

I bought a new ipad and reset my old ipad and gave to my mom. She forgot the passcode and I can't get into it to fix. How can I do a factory reset on this locked ipad?

Connect her iPad to computer and if your iPad has a home button you want to press the home and power button until you see the connect to computer screen then select restore. If she has a newer model you will need to connect the device and press volume up, volume down then hold down power button until you see the connect to computer screen then on your computer select restore.
