MacOs 26.0.1 Almost Destroyed the Music App

I have seen a number of posts on the issues with the Music App after upgrading to 26.0.1. I have seen most of those and a couple more.

  • In a Song's options, there is an option to have it start playing at a certain point in the song (not 0:00). If you set this to something other than 0:00 the app ignores in MacOS and just starts it at 0:00. in iOS 26.0.01 (on my iPhone and iPad) it still works correctly. It does honor an adjusted end time for the song on MacOs, just not an adjusted being time
  • In the MacOS music app, if I double click on a song in the middle of a play list to start playing, it ignores it and just starts playing the first song in the play list.
  • Something wonky going on with the left side panel with all the playlist folders and subs folders. It opens them all and makes you scroll forever to get to something down the folder structure.

If anyone has a fix for any of these, would be most appreciative.

Thanks, MJ

As always you should send feedback to Apple directly here:

What you are seeing has been reported by others with MacOS 26.0.1.

With MacOS 26.1 currently in beta and being tested, we are unable to comment on the issues that have been resolved as it is a violation of the terms for being a tester and not allowed on this support site. There has not been a release date set yet for that version.
