Is there any way to make my Ipad not store any of my photos?

I use my ipad for school. Its 64gb. I have very limited space and since the system data takes up half of that I have even less. I have my icloud synced so I can access files across my devices. But it also stores my photos and videos from photos and Imessage, which I do not need taking up space on my Ipad. Is there any way to make it not sync those things? I've scoured the settings but can't find any way to do this. I often have to go one by one deleting photos to clear up a minimal amount of space.

First you need to stop photos syncing: Settings app, iCloud, Photo (under Saved to iCloud), turn off synch to iClod. You will still need to delete the images from your device and the recently deleted folder.

Images to texts you will simply need to manage as they come in.

though shared icloud libs will still show, but the photos are not stored on your ipad just a thumbnail and if you click on it it will download the photo from the icloud account of the person who has set their icloud account to be shared with you.
