Lock Screen sleeps while I’m reading notifications after Face ID (even while scrolling)
Device: iPhone 14 Pro
iOS version: 26.0.1
Face ID: On
Attention Aware Features: On
Auto-Lock: 5 min
Low Power Mode: Off
Steps to reproduce
- Pick up the phone so Face ID recognizes me (padlock opens).
- I stay on the Lock Screen (I do not swipe up).
- I scroll and read my notifications.
Expected result
While I’m looking at the screen (and actively scrolling), the display should stay on.
Actual result
After ~5–10 seconds the display goes black/sleeps, even though I’m looking at it and interacting with notifications. This happens every time.
Troubleshooting tried
- Toggled Attention Aware Features on/off.
- Changed Auto-Lock (including Never).
- Confirmed Low Power Mode is off.
- Restarted the phone; issue persists.
- Happens with/without Focus modes; on battery and while charging.
Workarounds
- If I swipe up to fully unlock first and then open Notification Centre, the screen respects Auto-Lock and stays on.
- Always-On Display helps for glances, but not for reading multiple notifications.
Request
- Prevent the Lock Screen from sleeping while attention is detected or while the user is actively scrolling notifications.
This behavior makes it cumbersome to read notifications without fully unlocking each time.
