Getting Random Number Error on Screen – MacBook Pro

Hi everyone,

I’ve been getting a strange number-based error on my MacBook Pro screen. It just appears as a random string of numbers (something like “Error 18******76 ” or 80*****76) when I try to start up or use certain apps.

I’m not sure what’s causing it — it doesn’t look like a regular macOS message. Has anyone else seen this kind of issue before? Could it be related to hardware, software, or maybe an update glitch?

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

• Restarted in Safe Mode

• Checked for updates

• Reset NVRAM and SMC

• Ran Disk Utility First Aid

Still no luck. Any ideas or next steps would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

That's the exact error < “Error 18******76 ” > (?) seems odd with a bunch of asterisk

Posting A screen shot here may well paint a better picture of what you are seeing.
