The current version of Google Chrome will run on Monterey and up.
Google Support – Chrome browser system requirements
The OP has yet to identify which version of macOS their system is running – or even whether it is just a MacBook as opposed to a MacBook Air or MacBook Pro. (Some people use "MacBook" to refer to all three.)
I do not believe that there is a Google Gmail desktop application. There is a Gmail Web interface, and it is possible to access Gmail accounts from many third-party mail clients (including the standard macOS Mail client). (A search even turned up a third-party "Gmail App" for Windows and macOS. But it doesn't seem to be an official app from Google.)
Note that with old mail clients – much older than the version of Mail in Ventura – Google may not consider the mail client to be secure.
In this case, one may need to generate an app password (to use with that mail client, and only with that client), or forget about using that client and upgrade to one that is more secure.
What macOS version is your Macbook Air running? DId this start after a recent upgrade/update?
Please define "not working" and "required things".
This is too vague to address.
The newest MacBook can only run Ventura, and the latest version of Ventura is now over a decade old. Most likely, Google products will not work on a Mac that old, but that's only a guess. In that case contact Google for support.
