Yahoo email accounts disconnected and won't reconnect in Mac Mail (macOS Mojave) after entering password
I know there are issues with Yahoo mail and Macs (OS and iOS), but I was able to successfully add three Yahoo email accounts to my Mac (MacBook Pro 2012 Mojave) and iPhone after patience and app passwords, etc. It's been working fine for a couple of years.
This week one of the accounts suddenly disconnected and I got a prompt to log in with my password in Internet Accounts (I have not recently changed my password). Then a few days later, a second account did the same thing.
I should note that I am out of the country that I originally created these accounts in. I am able to log in to Yahoo webmail, but am having trouble getting reconnected in the Mail app.
When I go to System Preferences/Internet Accounts and enter the password for the Yahoo mail account, the curser wheel just spins and spins and spins and does not log in.
I tried changing my password, but that didn't solve the issue. I also tried using a free VPN (Windscribe) to see if being out of the country was the issue, but that didn't work either. I have cleared browser cache and cookies.
I have read that I could delete the account and try re-adding it, but I want to save that as a last resort - it is DIFFICULT to add a Yahoo account to Mojave.
I'm open to any suggestions or would love to hear if anyone else has had the same issue.
Thanks.
