I recently upgraded to Tahoe 26.0.1. Under previous versions of the OS, I had my computer play a startup sound using Apple Music. Now, no sound plays, and Music opens, but does not play my sound. The sound file is an m4a, and plays when selected within Music.
Mac Pro, macOS 26.0
System Settings >> Sound >>Sound output >> Play Sound At Start Up
Why didn't I think of that? Oh, wait. That's just the SYSTEM sound, not a specific sound file.
